Chelsea Family Home

ClearSphere were approached by Sacks Maguire Architects when carrying out an extensive remodeling of this 4 bedroom Chelsea House, situated in a quiet street just off the King's Road.

A challenging brief

Sacks Maguire's brief was for a multi-room audio-visual system that combined high-quality sound and video with a discreet installation, sympathetic to the high specification interior. The system had to play several audio and video sources, and included two areas with cinema surrounds; so simple and intuitive control was a must. A Lutron Homeworks lighting control system was also to be fitted.

ClearSphere worked alongside Seacon Construction Ltd to deliver a high quality audio-visual installation, on time and on budget.

Intuitive Crestron Control

The complexity of the specification, and the requirement for a discreet installation, made a Crestron based home entertainment system the logical choice: Central AV hardware is situated out of view in a central equipment rack and elegant Crestron touch-screens give simple control of music, TVs, and surround sound amplifiers.

Each Crestron system is programmed from scratch, creating an entirely bespoke user interface designed specifically for the individual property. The result is a complex and powerful A system hidden behind a single, elegant touch-screen who's ease of operation is simplicity itself.

Crestron multi-room music

All principle rooms are provided with Bowers & Wilkins in-ceiling speakers playing music via amplifiers from Crestron's new Sonnex range. Central sources, including DAB/FM radio, iPod dock and CD player are instantly access from easy to understand touch-screen menus that display iPod playlists, DAB radio station information and CD track information.

Crestron Digital Media video distribution

In order to allow televisions around the home high-definition access to central video sources, ClearSphere fitted a Crestron 'Digital Media' video distribution system: Sky Boxes, Apple TV's and BluRay players can be selected and controlled from each TVs Crestron remote.

Two rooms are equipped with 5.1 surround sound, utilising audiophile quality Rotel amplifiers and Bowers and Wilkins speakers. Again, control has been simplified via integration with the Crestron system; At the press of a button the TV switches on, the amplifier is activated and the correct source is selected, removing the usual headache were several different remote controls are required

The Master Bathroom is equipped with a waterproof 20" Aquavision TV seamlessly built into the marble bath surround. This TV also connected to the Digital Media system, for connection to central sources in HD

Telecoms and computer networks

ClearSphere installed a structured cable network with sufficient wireless access points to give a robust connection throughout the property. A Panasonic PBAX telephone system was also installed giving access to several telephone lines and allowing phones to be used as inter-room intercom system.

Another happy customer

ClearSphere installed a high specification AV system that met the client's brief and budget. The result was a spectacular property, finished to the highest possible standard and another satisfied ClearSphere customer.
